The Lotus urn is produced entirely from stainless steel. There is an invisible rust layer on the metal of the urn, the so-called oxide layer. Once this oxide layer has formed over the entire surface of the stainless steel, the oxidation stops. The underlying metal is thus protected against external influences. In addition to protecting the urn, the oxide layer also repairs possible damage. Any scratches will, as it were, rust over again, allowing the stainless layer to fully recover. Only high-quality stainless steel 316 is used in the production of the Lotus urn. This alloy is resistant to all weather influences and is even resistant to seawater.
